Dr Christopher Walsh
Dr. Chris Walsh is a psychiatrist working in private practice in Melbourne. His psychotherapy integrates diverse theoretical frameworks, including Mindfulness, CBT, Gestalt and Self-Psychology. He has worked in jails, in community settings, in drug and alcohol treatment centres, with the military and with urban and tribal Aboriginal communities. He has extensive experience with treating trauma. He has recently been involved as a clinician in research into the therapeutic use of psilocybin at Monash University
Chris is a pioneer in the introduction of mindfulness meditation in clinical settings in Australia. He has practiced this form of meditation for over 35 years since assisting at the Tibetan refugee hospital in Dharamsala in Northern India when in 1983. He has run mindfulness classes at The Melbourne Clinic and at The Epworth Hospital and has taught Melbourne and Monash University Medical Students as well as presenting at professional conferences and running his own trainings.
Chris also has a strong interest in interconnectedness and social mind. As a result, he took a major role in introducing Constellation Work in Australia. He has now integrated mindfulness and constellation work in the form of Mindful Representations.
